Bio
"Film taught me patience. Digital gave me freedom."
As digital photography emerged, I watched with curiosity and some skepticism. There was something sacred about film, about waiting for the right moment, trusting your exposure, and crafting every shot with care. But eventually, I made the transition, not to replace the past but to build on it.
Moving to a DSLR opened up new possibilities: immediate feedback, low-light performance, and the ability to refine images in post. It changed the way I worked, but not the reason I work. The soul of the photograph still mattered most.
Today, I shoot with a Nikon D750, a full-frame DSLR that delivers stunning clarity, color, and dynamic range. It's a tool that keeps up with both my vision and my experience. Whether I'm shooting portraits, street scenes, landscapes, or fleeting candid moments, the D750 responds like a natural extension of my eye.
After decades behind the lens, I've learned that gear is important but it's your perspective that shapes the image. The Nikon helps me express that perspective with precision and depth.
Travel has been one of my greatest teachers and photography, my way of absorbing it all. Whether I'm standing on the edge of a cliff in China, wandering ancient streets in Europe, or hiking a quiet path close to home, the landscape and architecture always speaks.
I've made it a practice to carry my camera not only across continents but also across states. The play of morning light on a local park can be just as breathtaking as a Yellow Mountain sunrise in China. What matters is being present enough to notice it. My work is a blend of both the grandeur of global travel and the intimacy of the regional wild. Looking back, photography has been far more than a hobby or profession, it's been a way of seeing, of connecting, of remembering. From film to digital, from the Minolta Maxxum to the Nikon D750, from foreign mountain ranges to local forests, this craft has shaped how I move through the world.
I don't shoot to chase perfection. I shoot to honor what's real: the changing light, the untouched landscape, the moment that won't return.
And I'm not done. There are still places I haven't seen, paths I haven't walked, and skies I haven't captured. I continue not only as a photographer but as a student of the world still learning, still looking, still chasing that elusive frame that says everything without a word.
